Son is back to FSU so the extra help has ended for the summer. It was great to have him here and being part of the farm again – although I am sure this has reinforced his nursing career immensely!
Sometimes life gets you down and there are unexpected little ditties that really can bring you out of the blue funk! Yesterday I tried to mow the lawn. We knew there was a leak in the gas tank but it had been a very slow drip. I poured in the gas and out it came pouring from the bottom. At that point in time I knew I had to repair the tank (soldering iron and plastic milk bottle) so I proceeded to remove it. The hardest part was finding the extender for the socket wrench! Got the tank pulled out and looked at the bottom and realized the fuel line was rotten. Waaaahoooo!!!! No bad tank and an easy fix for me! I took off the crimpers, headed up to Auto Advantage for the hose and in under an hour and 1.69 later, I was mowing grass – and continued to mow until well after 11pm. I may have missed a few spots since only one headlight is working (next repair session) but it sure looks a lot better.
Gosh I feel proud of myself! Thank goodness my Daddy wanted a boy and took the time to teach me a few things!
